Grace Church was constructed in 1877, the year of the great flood in Stafford Springs. With help from the Episcopal Diocese a lot on Spring St. was purchased and the church erected. The first service was held there in December 1877.
One of its most appealing features is its stained glass windows dating back more than a century. Stained glass windows were popular in churches to depict Biblical individuals or groups or moralizing images, or stories. One of the church's windows depicts "The Angels Appearing to the Three Marys at the Tomb". It was given to the church in memory of one of its founding members, Mrs Catherine Hicks in 1915.
